St Barnabas Church, a place of hospitality, where Jesus says, "You are welcome." This is our Mission Statement. We are an inclusive church where parents with little ones, young people and the young at heart (if not in years!) all feel welcomed and valued.
We are located between St Barnabas and College Streets, north of the Northampton Road and south ofWestfield Road. Our worship style is eclectic and includes elements from a number of traditions to suit the occasion.
Our main Sunday service of Holy Communion is at 9.30 a.m, with the second Sunday of the month being a non-Eucharistic All-Age Service with Church Parade. We have a Wednesday Holy Communion (said Service) at 10.00 a.m.
Morning Prayer is said at 9.30 a.m. on Mondays. You can see details of all this months services on the worship and groups page. St Barnabas CEVC Infants School and Freeman's Academy regularly hold services in church. Members of the congregation maintain a strong link with both schools.
In the early church, Barnabas was known as the Encourager. We do all we can to support and encourage people on their journey of Christian discipleship through our pre-school group,Little Frogs and House Groups for adults.
As a church family we enjoy getting together for fun and fellowship.
In his letter to the Romans, St Paul implored them to "extend hospitality to strangers." This we are keen to do, so please pay us a visit - you will be made very welcome.
